Guangdong Outstanding Film Projects Launch event will focus on a variety of film projects, encompassing diverse genres and rich themes, vividly showcasing Guangdong's profound cultural heritage and the innovation and development of its film industry. Through trailers and presentations, the event aims to demonstrate the vibrant creativity of Guangdong's film industry, further promoting interaction and cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the global film industry, and jointly exploring new horizons and development opportunities.

Phoenix TV and the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) will jointly host the UK-China Screen Forum during the Hong Kong FILMART. This initiative aims to enhance dialogue and exchange between the film and television industries of China and the UK, further deepening collaborative projects. The forum will feature a UK delegation led by the DBT, including representatives from the British Film Institute (BFI), UK Film Export, and BBC Studios. They will announce significant UK-China collaborative projects and engage in discussions with their Chinese counterparts about cooperation opportunities and future visions. Intellectual Property (IP) is a term that professionals in the industry often encounter in contracts. Since IP is accessible, have we effectively utilized resources to cultivate this domain? Adaptations, prequels, sequels, and spin-offs can be a vertical development of an IP, while horizontal development involves expanding the IP into different media, such as novels, comics, theater plays, and even merchandise, turning it into another form of product. This approach also connects the entire creative industry chain, maximizing returns for investors. In this Fireside Chat, speakers from various fields will share their ideas on how IP and film can mutually benefit and extend, offering Hong Kong content creators and producers a new way of thinking.

“Jackie Chan Project A for Films,” initiated by Mr. Jackie Chan, is a support and development program for young filmmakers. This initiative is dedicated to discovering exceptional talent with an international perspective, brimming with creativity and the potential to create and develop commercially viable Chinese-language genre films. The 7th Edition of “Jackie Chan Project A for Films” – Special Announcement will provide a comprehensive overview of the program’s latest developments and advancements. It will also introduce and grant honors to eight selected projects from this edition’s Open Pitch event, while outlining plans for the upcoming eighth edition.

Crime films have been the pillar of Hong Kong film industry, and shaped representable Hong Kong culture. Alongside thrilling plots and intriguing action scenes, music adds immense depth to portraying characters’ emotions, contributing to the success of Hong Kong’s Crime film industry. The Second Hong Kong Film Music Fiesta: “Echoes of Order and Chaos” Music Concert will be held on 18th March 2025 by Hong Kong Film Composers‘ Association during the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART). Led by Music directors Tomy Wai (Wai Kai Leung) and Julian Chan (Chan Yuk Pan), the concert will feature film masterpieces reinterpreted by five music composers - Tomy Wai (Wai Kai Leung), Julian Chan (Chan Yuk Pan), Yusuke Hatano, Wendyz Zheng (Zheng Ka Ka) and Labroe Lee (Man Hei). Singers, “Hak Mui” (Li Lai Ha), Jo Koo (Koo Jo Lam) and Alex Lam (Lam Tak Shun), will also perform other classic movie theme songs. The concert hopes to pay tribute to famous movie director Benny Chan (Chan Muk Sing) and music producers Teddy Robin and Kawai Kenji, and express how good and evil intertwines in crime film music.
