Setting up Korean Pavilion at FILMART for many years, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) finds the fair well-attended by global entertainment industry players. It is also an important gateway for exporting Korean content across Asian countries, especially Mainland China.
Ms. Soomin Im, Manager of KOCCA, said: “The large participation of Chinese counterparts in the last fair contributed greatly to the entry of Korean content.” Among them were key streaming platforms on the Mainland such as iQiyi, Tencent and Youku.
Benefitted from the rise of streaming services and over-the-top (OTT) platforms, the world’s interest and demand for Korean content creation are surging, one of the examples is Netflix’s smash-hit original series Squid Game, “leading to policy support for realizing more OTT success.”
A total of 27 international pavilions were staged in FILMART. Apart from Korea, the fair also welcomed those from India, Japan, Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, German, Italy and the United States.
